Where Mike Stands

Straight answers on the issues Oklahomans ask about most. Every answer is backed by a written plan.

A Note From Mike

When I'm out across Oklahoma, people don't ask me for slogans. They ask me direct questions: What will you do about my property taxes? Why can't my kid read? Who's buying up our land? They deserve direct answers.

This page is exactly that. Pick an issue, read where I stand, and see the plan behind it. No gimmicks. No unfunded promises. Just the work.

Taxes

Where does Mike stand on property taxes?

Seniors and veterans who have worked their entire lives to own a home should not have to pay rent to the government to keep it. Mike will phase out homestead property taxes for seniors and veterans over 3–6 years while keeping counties and schools funded.

Taxes

Where does Mike stand on the state income tax?

Mike has a six-year, revenue-neutral path to eliminate Oklahoma's individual income tax. It starts with an immediate cut from 4.5% to 3%, then lets voters choose to replace what's left with a consumer activity tax.

Economy & Jobs

Where does Mike stand on AI and data centers?

Data centers are welcome in Oklahoma, but they must pay their own way. No special tax breaks, no cash giveaways, and no shifting electricity or water costs onto Oklahoma families.

Economy & Jobs

Where does Mike stand on the Inola aluminum plant?

Mike supports the plant: roughly 1,000 direct jobs averaging $100,000 and 9,000 more secondary jobs, with no taxpayer dollars going directly to the company and the highest standards for environmental protection.

Economy & Jobs

Where does Mike stand on energy?

Remove unnecessary barriers on Oklahoma's oil and gas industry, and eliminate every taxpayer-funded subsidy that distorts the energy market. A day-one priority.

Economy & Jobs

Where does Mike stand on growing the economy?

Eliminate the state income tax over six years, help thousands of existing Oklahoma businesses grow through a Business Investment Capital Program, and expand Career Tech to get 75,000 students off the waiting list.

Government

Where does Mike stand on the Turnpike Authority?

The OTA collects more than $1 million in tolls every day with too little oversight. Mike will bring total financial transparency to the OTA and protect tollpayers from unnecessary costs.

Public Safety

Where does Mike stand on public safety?

Undo California-style criminal justice reform. Make theft over $50 a felony again, restore felony penalties for most drug offenses, and put more state troopers, deputies, and police officers on the streets.

Public Safety

Where does Mike stand on foreign ownership of land?

Ban land purchases by hostile foreign entities, close the shell-company loopholes, and require divestment where prohibited ownership already exists.

Public Safety

Where does Mike stand on illegal immigration?

No sanctuary cities in Oklahoma, declared or otherwise. Statewide cooperation with ICE, mandatory E-Verify for employers and landlords, and no taxpayer-funded resources for those here unlawfully.

Public Safety

Where does Mike stand on Sharia law?

Mike will ban Sharia law in Oklahoma. The U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of religion for all peace-loving citizens, but no religious system can replace the Constitution or create separate standards of justice.

Education

Where does Mike stand on education?

Only 20% of Oklahoma eighth graders read proficiently. Mike will appoint a Statewide Literacy Director in week one, mandate phonics, strengthen the third-grade reading gate, and bring discipline back to classrooms, following what worked in Mississippi and West Virginia.

Government

Where does Mike stand on government spending?

Oklahoma is not a poor state. It is a poorly managed state. Mike will put fiscal hawks in charge, implement audit recommendations, end taxpayer-funded lobbying, and make every agency answer one question: are you getting results for the taxpayers' money?

Government

Where does Mike stand on DHS reform?

Reform DHS to protect parental rights, stop children from being removed or given major medical decisions without due process, open records to parents and their legislators, and cut improper SNAP and TANF payments.

Government

Where does Mike stand on state pensions?

Mike helped move Oklahoma’s pension systems from about 50% funded to more than 90%. As Governor he will support regular COLAs, protect the defined-benefit plans for police, firefighters, and law enforcement, and veto any attempt to convert them.

Government

Where does Mike stand on tribal relations?

Bring the state and tribal nations back to the negotiating table, rebuild working relationships with tribal leaders, and partner on jobs, education, health care, and public safety.

Health & Recovery

Where does Mike stand on health care?

Root out waste and improper enrollment in SoonerCare, get insurance companies out of medical decisions, recruit doctors with a tax credit, and build regional health hubs so rural Oklahomans have real access to care.

Health & Recovery

Where does Mike stand on homelessness?

Address homelessness at its root causes of drug addiction and mental illness with accountability, a massive expansion of treatment beds, and proven recovery programs that lead to independence.

Want the whole blueprint?

Five priorities. Step-by-step. Built to be measured.
