My plan will not cut core services.
I’m Mike Mazzei, Oklahoma‘s next Governor.
To grow jobs and prosperity, we must become a no-income tax state. Tennessee’s economy the last ten years grew 58% more than ours.
We just lost the headquarters of Devon & Expand Energy to Texas. Why?
Texas and Tennessee are both no-income tax states, and we are not. Oklahoma needs to get on board or get left behind.
Every candidate in this race says the income tax needs to go — but I am the only one with a real plan to make it happen.
We can eliminate Oklahoma’s income tax in 6 years.
That process will start in the first year of the Mazzei administration.
Step one is reducing the income tax from 4.5-percent to 3-percent.
We will do that by getting rid of absurd tax deductions, exemptions, and corporate welfare.
Step two: Slash most of the more than 200 exemptions from sales taxes that have grown like a cancer over the decades.
Here’s a perfect example — for some reason,
People Magazine is exempt from Oklahoma sales tax.
Can anyone justify that??
Step three: A statewide vote to adopt the Tennessee model, tying taxes to consumer spending.
It is far better to tax activity than to tax labor.
That is why the no-income tax states have far greater economic growth than we do.
To launch a wave of growth and prosperity in Oklahoma, I need your vote on June 16th!
